If you're a practicing writer under 30, take note of this competition and start preparing now! In September, the Virginia Quarterly Review will hold a Young Reviewers Contest "to encourage and cultivate young reviewers and critics under the age of thirty." Prize includes: $1,000; publication in the Winter 2009 VQR; and a publishing contract for three additional reviews (worth $3,000). "Runners-up may also be offered publication" in print or online. You'll need to submit an in-depth review of a RECENT book published in the U.S., and you'll need to do that in October. Check here for details. There is NO ENTRY FEE.
