Monday Morning Markets/Jobs/Opportunities

New fellowship opportunity! "Next American City is currently seeking candidates for our Urban Leaders Fellowship Program, a unique opportunity to write about the development of our nation's cities. The 9-month, part-time fellowship comes with a $10,000 stipend." There is no application fee indicated. Click here for details.
When I read this news item about Storey Publishing's move into memoir, I decided to visit the press's Web site. And it does indeed seem that Storey, which aims to publish "practical information that encourages personal independence in harmony with the environment, will review unagented proposals.
You may not have known that Midwest Living magazine publishes essays: "If you remember a special event or experience - from the past or only yesterday - that's particularly related to living in the Heartland, we'd like to hear about it. Tell us your story about a happening that typifies life in the Midwest. If we publish your essay (750 words or less, please), you get $250." Click here for submission instructions.
And another opportunity for essayists: Galavanting Online Women's Travel Magazine is a new publication that pays $50 for feature travel essays (on publication) and $15 for "feature travel tips and blog entries." You'll find general submission guidelines here, and the current call here. (via Paying Writer Jobs)
You can learn about Diana Finch Literary Agency, which is "actively seeking" work in "narrative nonfiction, popular science, and health topics," over on the Guide to Literary Agents blog.
And don't forget--you only have until July 31 to take advantage of a 50 percent discount on the Guide to No-Cost Literary Contests and Competitions. Hurry, hurry!
And, as usual, a slew of jobs for writers:
