New fellowship opportunity: "Beginning in the fall of 2009, Dalkey Archive Press at the University of Illinois will be offering a unique opportunity for young translators of fiction working from world languages into English to gain experience in translation and publishing. The program is in response to the need to create the means for translators to take the next major step in their careers." Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or higher, and must submit three translation samples as part of the application package. There is no application fee indicated; deadline is March 1, 2009. Fellowships "will include an $18,000 stipend and medical benefits." Visit the Web site for full information and application instructions.
