Latin Week New York is looking for freelancers for its News and Features sections. "We publish in English and Spanish. Our focus is on local news and politics (especially East Harlem, Brooklyn and the Bronx) and arts and entertainment. We are also looking to expand coverage of Queens, especially Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and Sunnyside." Pays: "up to $50 per story, but is negotiable based on length and work required." The July/August issue of Poets & Writers magazine is now available, and you know what that means! A whole new set of calls for manuscripts and contest listings. Just be aware that not all the journals and magazines that advertise with P&W pay their writers, and most of the contests charge entry fees. Which is why I'm not detailing them here.
