Take some time this weekend to enjoy this podcast of a recent Billy Collins reading at the Center for Worker Education at The City University of New York. ("The Lanyard" never fails to get me!) And I appreciate here the many comments Collins offers about the practice of writing poetry.
I hope that you all have a great weekend. See you back here on Monday.

Me, too, I love that poem. I was surprised to hear from somebody last summer that The Lanyard offended them. I thought it was funny and oh-so-true, having amassed my share of keychains and lumpy (useless) ashtrays.
Thanks for the comment, anonymous. Like you, I am surprised that anyone can find that poem offensive. I think it is a beautiful tribute to parenthood and to Billy Collins's mother, in particular. I wish I could write something that eloquent for my mother!
