Hobart is now paying its contributors! Payment will be between $50 and $150, "depending [on] total number of printed stories, available funds, etc, but we are guessing most contributors will receive around $100." NB: "We plan on closing submissions during December, and possibly January, to give us a chance to catch up. So, if you plan on submitting, do so now or forever hold your peace. And by "forever" we mean until February." Guidelines here.

"The Gaius Charles Bolin Fellowships at Williams College are designed to promote diversity on college faculties by encouraging students from underrepresented groups to complete a terminal graduate degree and to pursue careers in college teaching. The Bolin Fellowships are two-year residencies at Williams, and three scholars or artists are appointed each year. Fellows devote the bulk of the first year to the completion of dissertation work—or in the case of MFA applicants, building their professional portfolios—while also teaching one course as a faculty member in one of the College's academic departments or programs. The second year of residency (ideally with degree in hand) is spent on academic career development while again teaching just one course." Deadline: December 1, 2008. No application fee. Details here. Here's an interesting opportunity for poets in the Lexington, Kentucky, area: "Help Wanted: Poet to compose a work written during the course of one round-trip bus ride (from the Lexington Transit Center and back) on a LexTran bus route of his or her choice. The writer’s journey is to be followed immediately on return to the Transit Center by a short (ten-minutes at least) public reading. The poet will read the work written on the bus ride as well as any other work that she or he wishes to share." Pays: $50. For application instructions, click here. Deadline: December 8, 2008. No application fee. (via KFW Hot Flash)

Anonymous, I can't answer your question. I'd suggest that you contact the office administering the fellowship directly (the link to the fellowship will take you there). Good luck!
